The annual IWF Winter Wonderland Retreat at Camp Yowochas will be filled with winter activities, including cross country skiing, snow shoeing and hikes (all equipment will be provided), campfires (both indoor and outdoor), networking, long table dinners and, most importantly, relaxation and wellness activities such as yoga and saunas.
Camp Yowochas is located on a 62-acre waterfront property about an hour west of Edmonton. The camp's main lodge was designed in the early 1980s by renowned architect and IWF Edmonton member Vivian Manasc; it was one of her first projects.
YWCA Edmonton has been operating outdoor education programming on the shores of Wabamun Lake since 1916. Its current facility runs year-round; during the summers, it hosts about 1,200 children from across the Prairies.
A packing list and retreat itinerary will be emailed out to all participants. Each IWF member is allowed to bring one female guest (preferably a woman you are either mentoring or want to introduce to the IWF community).
Please email IWF member and YWCA Edmonton CEO Katherine O'Neill if you have any questions (k.oneill@ywcaedm.org).
