Junetta Jamerson & Beverley Elliott, Co-founders and Board Members de Velma Carter
A bridge between the past & the future. I'm Junetta Jamerson, and I'm here to activate liberation & spark collective healing through a combination of ancestral wisdom, cultural memory, and radical imagination. I carry deep ancestral medicine that has informed years of work in education, music and event production, the mysteries of plant science, and community uplift. I dedicate this work to my late grandmother, Velma Carter.
Exploring the universe and discovering new worlds. I'm a space scientist, educating and sharing discoveries from my research with NASA on the Mars Curiosity Rover mission. A passionate advocate for Black Women, I'm here to provide motivation, support, and encouragement as we work together to break down barriers and create a more equitable world. I dedicate this work to my Jamaican grandmother, the late Agatha Brown.
Détails de l'évènement
Join Junetta Jamerson and Beverley Elliott of the Velma Carter Centre along with IWF member Deena Hinshaw for a thought-provoking and enriching discussion on leadership models that move away from domination towards partnership.
Grounded on the work of Rianne Eisler, and using a storytelling approach, this workshop is a lovely opportunity to explore how we as women bring a variety of strengths to our roles, and to share the ways our leadership helped others actualize, particularly when domination was an easy option or one we were pressured to take. As Rianne Eisler explains, the shift to partnership is not a linear path to follow. It starts by us changing from the inside out, and from one person to another.
