Thanks to our very own member, Michelle Chawla, Director and CEO of the Canada Council for the Arts, Monday, February 17 from 5:30 - 7:30pm at 921 St. Laurent Blvd, please join us for a private tour of the Canadian Council Art Bank. The Bank makes contemporary Canadian artwork available to a wide public across the country through corporate art rental, loans to museums and outreach. With more than 17,000 artworks by over 3,000 artists, the Art Bank has the largest collection of contemporary Canadian art anywhere. It houses paintings, sculptures, drawings, photographs and prints by emerging and established artists, including a significant number of Indigenous artworks.
The Art Bank visit will feature a sneak peek to their Doors Open Ottawa exhibition Intertwined Connections. Celebrating the beauty of creatures that have coexisted with humans on this shared planet for millennia, the exhibition invites viewers to reflect on the animals' symbolic, spiritual and cultural significance across different communities.
