"Pink Tea" event and "Women are persons!" exhibition " at Westmount's City Hall

Dear IWF sisters,

We are pleased to invite you to attend a public "Pink Tea" event this Friday, May 10 at 2 p.m. at Westmount 's City Hall, 4333 Sherbrooke Street West.

Our IWF Calgary sister Frances Wright, who is also the CEO and co-founder of the Famous 5 foundation, and Christina Smith, mayor of Westmount, are organizing this "Pink Tea" for the closing of the "Women are persons!" exhibition. " from the Famous 5 Foundation, which is on display at Westmount City Hall until May 15. This exhibition is touring nationally to inspire women and girls to become leaders and nation builders. So don't hesitate to come with those you want to inspire!

The Famous 5 Foundation honors the memory of five Canadian women who challenged the laws and conventions of our country to ensure that women were recognized as "persons" in the full legal sense of the term. The commitment, efforts and courage of these five pioneers notably contributed to women obtaining the right to vote and the right to be appointed to the Senate of Canada from 1929. The work of the Famous 5 had repercussions beyond our borders. Other countries have followed the Canadian example and recognized women's right to be considered as "persons" in the full legal sense of the term.

So if your person is available this Friday, join this Pink Tea!

It is also possible for you to come accompanied by guests. For their registration, please forward their contact details to iwfcmontreal@iwfcanada.com for confirmation.
