To a valiant heart, nothing is impossible! For Rhodnie Désir, human connection and oral tradition are fundamental to any project. After the extraordinary trajectory of BOW'T TRAIL, which took her to seven different regions in the Americas, she tackles another major challenge, the result of a large-scale collaboration with composer Jorane; sound designer Engone Endong; RD Créations' "house band," the Orchestre Métropolitain; and the National Film Board, for immersive projections.

Rhodnie Désir, associate artist at Place des Arts, takes up the challenge of a large-scale show for 11 performers and the 60 musicians of the Orchestre Métropolitain led by Canadian conductor Naomi Woo. A truly special event with the collaboration of several of our members involved in this project! Join us to launch the Premiere of this unique creation on APRIL 4!

How the evening will go:

5:00 p.m. > Arrival of IWF members at the Salon d'Honneur of the Wilfrid-Pelletier room and informal discussions

5:15 p.m. > Start of speeches

  • Welcome remarks from Marie-Josée Desrochers, CEO of the PDA and Annick Girard
  • "Behind the scene / en-scenes" discussion with Rhodnie Désir moderated by Cadleen Désir

5:45 p.m. > Rhodnie and the members of the IWF move to the Piano Nobile and join the VIP cocktail dinatoire with RD Créations hosted by our colleague Deborah Cherenfant

6:00 p.m. > Start of speeches and activities at the extended VIP reception. This cocktail dinatoire will bring together many personalities from Quebec's scientific, medical and cultural circles who were directly or indirectly involved in the creation of this large-scale show.

It will be a moment when tribute will be paid to people suffering from heart disease and the people who care for them. It will also be an opportunity to have exclusive meetings with the artists who participated in the development and production of the Symphonie de cœurs show.

The cocktail, with Caribbean influences, will be concocted by Chef Paul Toussaint, of the renowned KAMÚY restaurant. Voted Chef of the Year 2021 by Eater Montreal and included in Canada's 100 Best in 2020.

Note that IWF members can also, if they wish, participate in the benefit auction which offers an opportunity to support the creation of the event, which celebrates innovation in choreographic creation.

7:30 p.m. > End of the VIP cocktail and moving towards to the Wilfrid -Pelletier room for the show: the IWF members will have seats in VIP boxes 1 and 7 in the company of Marie-Josée Desrochers. Possibility of additional places on the floor if necessary depending on the number of registrations.

8:00 p.m. > Start of the Symphony of Hearts show
